At this point in time I would of pursued geology. I find rocks and the formations they make very interesting. Australia is a great place with rather extreme rock formations and histories. Each time I head out on an outback adventure I’m always amazed by what I see. I want to know more.
If I didn’t work in agriculture, I would work in human psychology – understanding how people think and act is really interesting to me. My current job essentially looks at how animals think and act, so it’s not really a huge jump for me – especially as us humans are just another animal!
I started off as a plant physiologist, which is a laboratory based scientist working on internal workings of plants. But I love maps, so I went on a did more studies and got some great jobs working with satellite images and computer based maps. So I guess i would have done map making.
I considered biomedical sciences because biology fascinates me and I would be able to help people through that kind of research. In the end I chose agriculture because I love plants and food and working outside and helping to feed people would be a wonderfully rewarding way to help people =)

I probably would have gone into medical biotechnology, which I think is an equally exciting and cutting-edge and is making a huge impact on our lives.
