Question: How do the rough endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus act in the production and releasing of proteins?

    The rough ER is a continuous membrane structure that links the nucleus to the plasma membrane. The rough bits are ribosomes which convert RNA into protein. The Golgi is another membrane system which delivers proteins to organelles and membranes. Golgi are also involved transferring proteins produced via the ER.
