Triglycerides are made from the initial compounds in the body bicarbonate and acetyl-coA. These combine using the enzyme acetyl-coa synthase to form another compound called malonyl-coA. A second enzyme comes along called fatty acid synthase that makes the triglycerides from malonyl-coA.
