Thats a good question. I think there is enough food produced but its distribution around the planet is not effective, many people go hungry. We currently do share a lot of food globally but often price and availability limit distribution to areas of greatest need.
Cheers,
Brent
Yes, as Brent said, if we distributed it well and shared it it would be possible to feed everyone, but that is not really how countries manage resources. Also, people in different countries have different food habits and eat different food and it is sometimes hard to have enough of every type of food.
Hey swiftie, yes we do grow enough food currently for the whole world but unfortunately a lot of countries are poor and have bad governments so people can’t afford food or don’t have access to it. You’re right, if only we could share..
What we can do from an Agricultural perspective however, is to help these countries out by helping them update their farming methods and knowledge so that when their population becomes very high (as it will in a lot of countries over the next few decades) they might be a bit better prepared.
I think the others have done a good job at replying to this question. I hope that with time we can either transport food to where it is needed more efficiently and economically, or alternatively we can assist developing countries to produce enough food on their own to meet their demand.
